I sat down with Faith Alpher and left the conversation feeling lighter — and more certain that the most powerful thing any of us can do is simply be ourselves.
Faith is a comedian, a longtime voice on 101.7 KKIQ, and Livermore’s first person of color to serve as Poet Laureate. In our talk she shared her recipe for success, the quiet freedoms that changed how she shows up in the world, the steady belief her mother poured into her, and how comedy became her way of connecting rather than performing.
She also read from her new spoken-word collection, The Voice You Forgot You Had.
Today (August 6, 2026) is the official launch. From 12–2 PM at Prodigy Fitness in Pleasanton, Faith is releasing the book in partnership with Open Heart Kitchen. If you’re in the area, stop by and celebrate with her.
